The pharmacy of nature

Herbal infusions with tradition and natural power

Herbal teas are generally available in two forms: as single-origin infusions made from individual herbs or as carefully balanced blends of herbs and spices. Botanically speaking, these are not classic teas, but herbal infusions - because the tea plant Camellia sinensis plays no role here.

For centuries, herbal infusions have been a tried and tested everyday companion in many cultures. They are not only valued for their aromatic taste, but also for their beneficial properties. Whether as a warming balance, as a moment of inner peace or as a little break in between - herbal teas stand for conscious enjoyment and natural balance.

They are often referred to as "nature's pharmacy": a source of original plant power that appeals to both body and mind.

THE DIVERSITY OF HERBS

The world of herbal teas is as diverse as a blooming herb garden - from local classics to exotic rarities.

A basic distinction is made between single-variety mono herbs and carefully composed blends. Mono varieties consist of a single plant species, such as peppermint, camomile or fennel. Blends, on the other hand, combine different herbs, flowers or spices to create a balanced flavor profile.

Different parts of the plant are used in the production process - including leaves, flowers, fruits, bark or roots. Each component has its own aroma and characteristics. If a herbal tea is also flavored, this is indicated accordingly.

The result is a multifaceted variety of infusions - natural or composed, mild or intense, classic or surprisingly new interpretations.

THE PERFECT TASSE Herbal TEA

The right preparation for full flavor

Three things are needed for the optimal development of aroma and plant power: bubbling boiling water, a sufficiently large container and a little time. The guideline is one heaped teaspoon of dried herbs or one tea bag per cup.

The water should be fresh and as lime-free as possible. Particularly important: always infuse herbal teas with boiling water. As natural products, they can contain a natural flora of microorganisms - the bubbling hot water therefore not only ensures complete flavor extraction, but also hygienic safety.

Most herbal blends can be infused for up to ten minutes. The infusion can then be poured through a fine sieve into a second pot or directly into the cup. The result is a clear, aromatic herbal tea with a fully developed flavor profile.
